Prerequisites for Online Renewal

e-VET Emission Test Certificate: A valid eco-test certificate from Laugfs Eco Sri or CleanCo Green Test (records are automatically uploaded to the central database).
e-Insurance Policy: An active digital vehicle insurance policy issued by an authorized insurance provider.
Previous Revenue License Details: License number and vehicle registration details.
Certificate of Registration (CR Book): Vehicle Chassis Number and Engine Number.

Step-by-Step Online Application Process

Step	Action Required
Step 1	Visit the official e-Revenue License portal at www.erl.gov.lk.
Step 2	Select your relevant Province and click on “Online Revenue License Renewal”.
Step 3	Enter your Vehicle Registration Number and the last 4 digits of your Chassis Number.
Step 4	The system will automatically verify your active e-VET emission test and e-Insurance status.
Step 5	Complete the payment for the calculated license fee using a debit/credit card or net banking.
Step 6	Download and print the Temporary Revenue License (PDF). The physical license will be delivered by post.

Temporary Digital Permit: The temporary PDF permit generated immediately after payment remains valid for 15 days and is accepted by Traffic Police.
