The Department for Registration of Persons (DRP) in Sri Lanka provides the Smart Digital National Identity Card (e-NIC) embedded with a Unique Digital Identifier (SL-UDI). Obtaining this smart polycarbonate identity card is mandatory for all citizens aged 15 and above.
Required Documents & Prerequisites

ICAO Photo Receipt: Digital photo receipt obtained from an authorized ICAO-compliant photo studio (taken within the last 6 months).

Application Form: Duly completed application form (Form D.R.P/1, 7, or 8).

Grama Niladhari Attestation: Endorsed by the local Grama Niladhari and counter-signed by the Divisional Secretariat.
Step-by-Step Application Process
